2025 Fall Winter Season

Join us as we celebrate 40 years of singing for peace and social justice with our Winter Solstice concert, Coming Home. The evening will feature songs of resistance, hope, community, and renewal. Many are familiar favorites from years past performed by our adult, teen, and children’s choirs.

This year’s Winter Solstice concert, Coming Home, is both a reflection and a renewal honoring the voices and moments that brought us here, and looking ahead to the next 40 years of community, courage, justice, and music.

We’ll gather in song, memory, and hope, continuing our cherished tradition of the annual quilt giveaway and presenting the People’s Peace Award to the Syracuse Immigrant and Refugee Defense Network (SIRDN) through the Workers’ Center of Central New York.

People's Peace Award

The Syracuse Immigrant and Refugee Defense Network (SIRDN) works for Immigration justice in Central New York and beyond through organizing, advocacy, and solidarity support for directly affected individuals and their families.

Across the United States, immigrant and refugee communities continue to face fear, detention, and even disappearance—acts that violate the most basic principles of human dignity. In this moment, standing for justice is not optional. It is necessary.

This year, the Syracuse Community Choir proudly honors the Syracuse Immigrant & Refugee Defense Network (SIRDN) with our People’s Peace Award for their tireless commitment to protecting the rights and humanity of immigrants and refugees in Central New York and beyond.

Led by the Workers’ Center of Central New York, SIRDN organizes, advocates, and provides direct solidarity support to individuals and families navigating the threats of our nation’s immigration system. Their work reminds us that peace cannot exist without justice and that community is built when we refuse to turn away from one another.

In honoring SIRDN, we affirm our shared belief that every person deserves safety, belonging, and the freedom to live without fear.

Winter Solstice Concert Quilt

Each year, members of the Syracuse Community Choir come together to create a handmade quilt that celebrates the spirit of our season. This year’s design bursts with color and connection, reflecting the many voices that make our choir a community. The quilt will be raffled at our Winter Solstice Concert on Sunday, December 14 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Tickets will be available at the concert, or you can email quilt@syracusecommunitychoir.org with the subject line “Quilt Tickets”, and a choir member will reach out to you directly.
