If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. Join us on Zoom if you’re able.

Respiratory Illness Prevention Policy

Whether or not masking is required on a particular day will be based on the detection level and trends of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in wastewater in Onondaga County. This data is collected by New York State and reported weekly here ==> READ WEEKLY SUMMARY

You can also review NYS Wastewater Surveillance Network information ==> View Detection Map

  • The report includes the “Detection Level of SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater” which is displayed as Low, Moderate, or High. The High level is further broken down into quantiles.
  • The report includes “Trends in SARS-CoV-2 Measured in Wastewater over the Past Two Weeks” which is displayed in deciles, five of which show decreasing or steady levels of virus and five of which show increasing levels of virus.
  • Masking will be optional when the Detection Level in Onondaga County is Low or Moderate and the two-week Trend is staying steady or decreasing.
  • Within our rehearsal space, we will attempt to keep the air fresh in the following ways.
  • Opening windows as weather allows
  • Running fans blowing out of the rehearsal space to bring fresh air in
  • Running air purifiers

Choir members may further protect themselves by

  • Continuing to wear masks (provided if needed)
  • Using hand sanitizer (provided)
  • Sitting in the back of their section so less exhaled air is coming toward them
  • Social distancing

Choir members who still don’t feel comfortable in an unmasked group setting are encouraged to join us via Zoom.
